About Wildcat Cliffs Country Club

Wildcat Cliffs Country Club is a private, gated golf community on 365 acres at the foot of Whiteside Mountain, between Highlands and Cashiers. Founded in 1961, the club sits at an elevation of 4,250 feet, and its mountain clubhouse is the center of club life, with dining, a bar, and an outdoor pavilion. Membership is by invitation, with full, social, and legacy membership options. Through a Legacy Membership, members may sponsor their children, grandchildren, parents, and other family members for membership at a reduced cost.

The Golf Course

The 18-hole course was originally designed by George W. Cobb and renovated by Bill Bergin in 2008. The result is a classic mountain course that is scenic and challenging yet playable for every golfer, with bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways and bluegrass roughs. Five sets of tees create nine different tee options. Practice facilities sit next to the golf shop, including a two-acre short-game practice area designed by Bergin, and PGA professionals offer regular clinics and individual lessons. Men's and ladies' golf associations play weekly through the season.

Club Amenities

Clubhouse & Dining

The clubhouse is open daily, with fine dining, lunch service, Sunday brunch, a bar, and an outdoor pavilion. It also hosts special events and includes a golf shop and locker rooms.

Fitness & Recreation Center

The Fitness & Recreation Center features modern exercise equipment, a heated indoor pool, a 12-foot hot tub, steam rooms, and two all-purpose rooms for classes and activities. Members receive complimentary group exercise classes several days a week in season and three days a week in winter, along with personal training and licensed massage therapists available by appointment.

Tennis, Pickleball & Croquet

Members can play on two clay tennis courts and four pickleball courts, and croquet is played on three lawns.

Lakeside Park & Outdoors

Lakeside Park brings together a covered pavilion with gas grills for family gatherings and parties, a fire pit overlooking the water, a children's playground, and a dog park where dogs can run off-leash. A trout pond next to the Fitness & Recreation Center is stocked regularly with rainbow trout, and fishing is also allowed in other ponds on club property. Walking trails wind through the community, and staff can recommend hikes nearby. Members can also enroll their grandchildren in Camp Wildcat, the club's camp program.
